Family research as of June 2012
Matthew Douglas Carothers was born May 17, 1867 near Kimbolton, Guernsey, Ohio 
to Samue​l Edward Carothers and​ Eliza Ann Keowan, the fifth of their
eight 
children. He had a twin sister, Mary Josephine Carothers.

Matthew mar​ried Blanche George December 30, 1896 at probably Ohio. 

The f​amily moved west to settle in Wyoming. 

The couple had 4 children:
George William (born January 15, 1909 Converse, WY, died August 10, 1988 
Douglas, Converse, WY);
Arthur Edward (born July 16, 1913 Converse, WY, died November 4, 1927 Douglas, 
Converse, WY);
Margaret Eliza (born February 5, 1915 Converse, WY, married Robert Dale 
Anderson in WY, died January 16, 2003, WY) and
Mathew Douglas Carothers (born April 19, 1924 Converse, WY, died December 14, 
2005 Casper, Natrona, WY).

Matthew Douglas Carothers died​ December 12, 1928 at Converse, Wyoming and was

buried at the Douglas Park Cemetery, Converse, Wyoming.

Found in the 1900, 1910 censuses living at La Bonte, Converse, Wyoming. A: 
1900: Matt D Carruthers 33, Blanch Carruthers 20. 
1910: Mat D Carother 43, Blanch Carother 30, George W Carother 1. 
Found in the 1910 census at Beaver, Converse, Wyoming: Matt D Carothers 43, 
Blande Carothers 30, George W Carothers 1. (Family counted twice in 1910) 

Found in the 1920 census at La Bonte, Converse, Wyoming: Mathew D Carothers 52, 
Blanch Carothers 39, George W Carothers 10, Arthur E Carothers 6 yrs, 5 mos, 
Margaret E Carothers 4 yrs 6 mos.

Found in 1925 at Douglas, Converse, Wyoming. 

Found in the 1930 census at Wagon Hound, Converse, Wyoming. Stock farmer: Matt 
D Carothers 62, Blanch Carothers 50, George W Carothers 21, Arthur E Carothers 
16, Margaret E Carothers 14, Douglas M Carothers 5. 

Matthew's wife, Blanche George, was born February 20, 1880 at Nebraska and died 
March 3, 1959 at Wyomng.
