He was a native of Ireland, born at the family home at the village of Honeymound. He is survived by two sons, Edward and R. J. Talbot and five daughters, besides a sister, Mrs. Anna Donavan of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and a brother Thomas F. Talbot of 1227 West Twenty-seventh street, Cheyenne. Edward Talbot, a son of the dead man departed from Chicago for training at American Lake with the last contingent of selectives. Besides members of his immediate family Mr. Talbot is survived by a number of grandchildren, nephews and nieces. In company with his brother Major John Talbot he came to Cheyeene in 1867, literally tramping down the grass and weeds at the point on West Nineteenth street where the Talbot home stands, to make a place in which to pitch their tent. In his younger manhood, Mr. Talbot was engaged as a plasterer, bricklayer and contractor, erecting the Davis block and many of the business homes on Sixteenth and Seventeenth streets. For three years Mr. Talbot was a member of the city council. He served as coroner of Laramie county for two years. Mr. Talbot was married to Miss Anna Padden in 1867, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Father Kelley in the first catholic church built in Cheyenne.
