Condition: Very small, not really taken care of. The Cokeville Boy Scouts placed a buck rail fence around the old wraught iron fence. A wood plaque was also placed. Plaque: Button Grave The Button family moved from upstate New York to the Smith's Fork Valley about 1665. They established a home west of this gravesite which is known as "Button Flat". Emma Utter Button born 18 Jan 1841 New York died 6 Nov 1893 Smith's Fork The father Rueben Manley Button with his three sons James G., Platt and Guy U. moved to Manna, Wy. ater the death of the mother. Guy studied Geology in college and on 10 July 1901 he came to explore the mine on Coal Creek and was overcome by gas and died. They went down an old mine shaft to explore. The poisonous gas in the mine killed them. Pulled out of the mine with a bale hook. (The friend's body was sent home to his family).
