August 13th, 1887 Cokeville, Wyoming Territory Dear Aunt It has been some time I have writen to you & I thought that I would try to write you a few lines we have traveled a good long distance since I wrote you as we are now in Wyoming Territory. just stoped a while to rest our teams & Pa got in to work. we have been here a month Pa is helping a man put up hay geting a dollar & half a day I am Cooking for the men just the man & two hands get 2.50 per week & board Grandpa & Grandma, Ma & Lyda are camped right at the yard fence. Aunt I like this country very well but we are going on to oregon in a few weeks Pa cant stop untill he gets thare people here dont farm much they are to lazy they have to errigate, & that is to much trouble for some of them. they could raise oats wheat Rye Barley if they would try corn wont grow here the seasons are to short. Potatoes grow the nicest kind here & other vegitables would if people would try raise them. I wish you & the boys were out here I think you could do better than you can thare it is pretty wild out here is the worst objection I have but I guess as the country settles up they will become more civilized, thare are a great potion of the people are mormans & they dont care for any body but thare selves Aunt I cant write much this evening for I have to go to the office yet you will excuse me for not writing sooner if you get this in 10 days write to me we are all well & hope this will find you well excuse this scratching & I will try to do better the next time so I will close for this time hopeing to hear from you soon. good By I Remaine as ever your Affectionate Neice Mollie Zemmer Address me at Cokeville, uinta Co Wyoming Ter September 4th, 1887 Cokeville, Wyoming Territory Dear Aunt, Yours of the 21 came to hand several days ago but I kept neglecting writing to see whether we were going to stay here or not but we are not going to stay here now. we have concluded to go on through to oregon this fall, though it will be pretty cool on us I expect. for we have had a right smart ice here in the vallies that is the reason we dont like here. it is so cold in the winter it snows here sometimes untill the trains can't run, so you know that it must be pretty deep. if it was not so cold I think we would like here. wages is good here, money is plenty & Game is plenty deer & Elk, Bear. the men are going out on a big Hunt before we start out again I guess. they will bring in a wagon load of game in (which) you never saw the like of fish in your life mostly all Trout, they are right of spoted, I wish you and boys was with us. we have not heard from uncle Jess since we left him I have writen back but havent got any answer yet I dont know what is the reason unless the mail has got missplaced, Aunt I hope Lee has got well & stout by this time. I wish I could have been there to gone with Jake, to the picnic & I would like to be thare now to go to ____? meeting with you. I have read a heap about those Noted preachers & I would like to hear them. we dont have any meeting here only the Mormans & I dont care to go to hear them well I will have to stop writing for this time.
