Funeral Service: 2:00 April 14, 2005 at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel.
Poteau OK Interment: To follow chapel services , at New Hope Cemetery,
Spiro, OK
Robert D. York Sr., 64, of Panama, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005, in
Fort Smith, AR. He was born December 30, 1940, in Mesa, AZ to Charles and
Mary (Yates) York. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 33 years of
service. His father preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother,
Mary York of Gustine, CA; his wife of 32 years, Betty York of the home; a
daughter, Betty Elaine Karl and husband Rick of Poteau; three sons, Bobby
York Jr., of Spiro, Billy Adams and wife Doris of Gans, OK; Harold Adams
and wife Carolyn of Fort Smith, AR; one brother; Donald York and wife
Dorothy of Dos Palos, CA and one brother in law Charles Robison and wife
Brenda of Shady Point, OK, four sisters; Aline Bruner and husband James of
Gustine, CA, Mary Lou Chittenlan and husband Todd of Clovis, CA, Rita Kerr
and husband Bob of Clovis, CA., Glenda Marten of Chanchy, OK, nine
grandchildren; Justin and wife Chavon Adams of Poteau, Matt Adams of
Poteau, Jonathan and Brian Adams of Gans, OK, Tiffany Jorgensen of Nubin
Ridge, OK, T.J. Richard of Nubin Ridge, OK, Jeramy Cook of Barling, AR,
Brandon and Valerie Cook of Gans, OK, and five great grandchildren, four
nephews; Scott and Charles Robison Jr., Chris and Jim Hudspeth all of OK,
one niece Michelle Robison also of OK, and many nieces and nephews in CA,
11 great nieces and nephews of OK. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau, with Rev. Jackie
Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in
Spiro, OK, under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home. Pallbearers
will be his grandsons and nephews; Justin Adams, Matt Adams, T.J. Richard,
Brian Adams, Jim Hudspeth, Chris Hudspeth, Charles Robison, Jr.
